Gila River Police search for missing teen Matthew Villegas

QUEEN CREEK, Arizona — Gila River Police search for Matthew Villegas, a 15-year-old member of the Gila River Indian Community, who was last seen on March 29, 2025, at approximately 8:10 a.m. in Queen Creek. The Gila River Police Department is collaborating with the Queen Creek Police Department to locate the teen, who has been missing for over two days.

Matthew is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a visible birthmark on the front of his neck and a tattoo on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, maroon shorts, and black shoes. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear, raising concerns for his safety given his age and the time elapsed.

Queen Creek, a suburban town southeast of Phoenix, is near the Gila River Indian Community, where Matthew is a member. The area has seen missing persons cases before—historical reports from Fox 10 Phoenix note that a 17-year-old, Lyanah Felix, went missing from Queen Creek in 2022, highlighting the region’s vulnerability to such incidents. Gila River Police search efforts are ongoing, and they urge anyone with information to contact them at 520-562-4511 or dial 911 immediately.
