YUMA, Arizona — The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public about Jose Quintero-Cervantes, a Level 2 sex offender with an intermediate risk to reoffend, who has moved to 304 S. May Avenue, #123, in Yuma, as required by Arizona Revised Statute 13-3825. Quintero-Cervantes, a 72-year-old man convicted of attempted molestation of a child in 1991, is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 220 pounds, and has white hair and brown eyes. The notification, issued on April 22, 2025, by Public Affairs Specialist Tania Pavlak, aims to keep the community informed for safety purposes.
Quintero-Cervantes’ conviction occurred on October 28, 1991, in Maricopa County Superior Court in Buckeye, Arizona, where he pleaded no contest to one count of attempted molestation of a child, involving a female juvenile known to him. He was sentenced to one year in Maricopa County Jail and lifetime probation, but on January 10, 1994, his probation was revoked, and he was ordered to serve 10 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, with credit for 452 days served. As a Level 2 offender, Quintero-Cervantes poses an intermediate risk to the community, and he is not currently wanted by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.
