Yuma County Sheriff Notifies Community of Level 3 Sex Offender in Somerton

SOMERTON, Arizona — The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is informing the public about Armando Corona, a Level 3 sex offender who poses a high risk to reoffend and has recently moved to 726 W. Jackson Street in Somerton, as required by Arizona Revised Statute 13-3825. Corona, a 61-year-old man convicted of sexual battery in 1981, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 163 pounds, and has bald hair and brown eyes. The notification, issued on April 22, 2025, aims to keep the community informed and safe while emphasizing that Corona is not currently wanted by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

Corona’s conviction stems from a November 2, 1981, case in Volusia, Florida, where he pleaded no contest to one count of sexual battery against an adult female unknown to him. He was sentenced to three years in the Florida Department of Corrections, with credit for 24 days served. As a Level 3 sex offender, Corona is considered a high risk to the community, prompting the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office to release his new address and description. The sheriff’s office stresses that this information should not be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Corona, as such actions are illegal and will not be tolerated.
