Drug busts and UTV crash reported in Yavapai County

PRESCOTT, ArizonaAuthorities in Yavapai County announced multiple arrests involving drug busts and a UTV crash over the past week, with significant seizures and charges filed, according to a statement released Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The incidents highlight ongoing narcotics enforcement and off-road safety concerns.

On March 13, detectives with Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) conducted a traffic stop in Prescott, uncovering 4 grams of cocaine and 25.5 grams of Xanax on the driver. After observing the suspect leaving a storage facility, a search warrant revealed 27 grams of cocaine, about 500 Adderall pills, 15 grams of ketamine, and over 1,000 Xanax bars in a storage unit. The suspect faces multiple drug-related charges.

In a separate case, U.S. Marshals arrested a Prescott Valley man on March 16 following a lengthy investigation and an outstanding warrant. Found with 22 grams of cocaine and a pistol, the suspect—a prohibited possessor—prompted a PANT search of a Castle Canyon Mesa property where he stayed. Detectives seized guns, a rifle, body armor, and an ounce of cocaine, leading to charges for drug offenses, the warrant, and weapons misconduct.

On March 15, just before 9 p.m., deputies responded to a UTV rollover on South Cow Creek Road near Lake Pleasant. A passenger, reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital. The driver showed signs of impairment, facing charges of aggravated assault, endangerment, and extreme DUI. Authorities urged responsible off-roading, pointing to Tread Lightly’s safety tips.

Suspect names and the passenger’s condition remain undisclosed, with no conflicting accounts reported. The drug busts align with ongoing regional efforts, per prior PANT operations.
