Yvonne Mullican still missing from Prescott Valley

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Arizona — Yvonne Mullican, a 66-year-old woman, has been missing since April 4, 2024, when her family reported her disappearance to the Prescott Valley Police Department. She left her home with her two dogs in a 2012 Silver Kia Sorrento, identifiable by a “God be with you” bumper sticker. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt, gray sweater, and dark jeans.

Her car was found three weeks later, on May 1, 2024, in a remote, wooded area near State Route 260 and Forest Road 144 in Coconino County, over 50 miles from her home. The spot’s desolate—full of trees, cliffs, and steep hills, not a place people usually walk. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office searched the area on May 2 with a dog team, looking for any sign of Yvonne or her dogs, but came up empty. Her leashes were found near the car, which raises questions—her niece, Cassandra Mullican, told NBC News that Yvonne was a huge animal lover, treating her pets like family, so abandoning them seems out of character.

Yvonne’s phone is off, her social media accounts are gone, and her Social Security checks are piling up in her P.O. box. She reportedly canceled her phone service and email before vanishing, which makes some wonder if she planned to disappear. But her dogs being missing too doesn’t fit that story easily—why take them just to let them go? The Prescott Valley Police entered her into the National Crime Information Center, and they’re still asking for tips. Call 928-772-9267 for non-emergencies, 911 if it’s urgent, or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.

This isn’t the first missing person case in Prescott Valley lately—20-year-old Yasmin Estrella vanished from her home in January 2024, and police are still looking for her too. It’s a small town off Highway 69, not used to this kind of mystery, and Yvonne’s family, especially her niece, are desperate for answers, hoping she’s out there and sees they’re searching.
