Young Man Jailed for 11 Years Over Child Sex Crimes

PENRITH, England — A 21-year-old man from Penrith, Cumbria, is behind bars for more than 11 years after a shocking string of sexual crimes against teenage boys. Jamie-Lee Taylor, of Skidore View, was sentenced on April 17, 2025, at Cumbria Crown Court for five counts of rape, attempted rape, and causing or inciting sexual activity with two schoolboys. The court handed him 11 years and two months for the rape of a child, with other sentences running at the same time.

Taylor’s crimes spanned Cumbria and Cleveland. In May 2023, he reached out to two boys in Cleveland through social media, luring them to separate hotel meetups where he committed sexual acts. Closer to home in Cumbria, he carried out multiple rapes, attempted rapes, and pushed a child into sexual activity. His actions left a trail of harm, sparking outrage in both communities.

After a trial, Taylor was found guilty, and the judge didn’t hold back, slamming him with a hefty prison term to keep kids safe. Police praised the bravery of the victims who came forward, helping put Taylor away. The case shows how predators can use apps to target kids, a warning for parents everywhere.
