YUMA, Arizona — The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred on April 17, 2025, at approximately 3:36 a.m. in the 11300 block of E. Del Verde Drive. Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence and were alerted en route to possible shots fired. Upon arrival, they found 38-year-old Anthony Morgan Herrera of Yuma with an apparent gunshot wound, unresponsive.
Deputies attempted life-saving measures until Rural Metro Fire Department personnel arrived to provide further medical aid. Despite these efforts, Herrera succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has notified his next of kin, marking a tragic loss for the community. The Criminal Investigations Bureau has taken over the case, which remains active as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
