BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona — Bullhead City Police, through the Mohave Area General Narcotic Enforcement Team (MAGNET), arrested 31-year-old Gustavo Gutierrez on March 28, 2025, after seizing 2 kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop. The incident occurred at 12:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of Aztec Road in Fort Mohave, where Gutierrez was initially pulled over for speeding.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the stop, and Lake Havasu City Police K-9 Echo played a key role by alerting to the presence of narcotics in Gutierrez’s vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered two brick-sized packages containing the cocaine, with an estimated street value of $84,000. Gutierrez was charged with possession and transportation of narcotic drugs for sale and booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. The significant quantity of cocaine suggests potential ties to larger drug trafficking networks, a persistent issue in the region.
Fort Mohave, an unincorporated community near Bullhead City with a population of about 15,000, lies along major routes like Aztec Road, making it a potential corridor for drug trafficking. The Bullhead City Police have been active in combating narcotics through MAGNET, a multi-agency task force. In 2023, MAGNET seized over 5 kilograms of cocaine in Mohave County, according to local news reports, indicating a steady flow of drugs through the area. The involvement of K-9 units like Echo highlights the importance of specialized resources in such operations, though it also raises questions about the scale of trafficking networks operating in smaller communities like Fort Mohave.
