Merrimack man arrested in New Hampshire after reckless pursuit

HOPKINTON, New Hampshire — A 35-year-old Merrimack man, Eric Dearborn, was arrested in Concord on March 20, 2025, after leading police on a high-speed chase that began the night before, according to a Merrimack Valley Scanner Alerts update posted 20 hours ago at 11:12 a.m. PDT on March 20. The Merrimack man arrested in New Hampshire kicked off the pursuit at 11 p.m. on March 19 when he refused to stop for speeding on Route 202/9 in Hopkinton.

Local police from Hillsboro, Henniker, and Hopkinton chased Dearborn’s 2015 Toyota Tundra as it barreled onto Route 77 toward Dunbarton. State Troopers from Troop D and B joined in, with Trooper Kyle Cotnoir spiking one tire at Routes 77 and 13. Even with a blown tire, Dearborn kept going, weaving through Bow and Concord before hitting Interstate 89 northbound. A second set of spike strips from a Hillsboro officer finally stopped the truck near mile marker 6, but Dearborn bolted into the woods, leaving a passenger behind. A State Police K-9 couldn’t track him down.

Investigators believe someone picked Dearborn up after his woodland dash. Warrants went out for disobeying an officer and reckless operation, and Concord police nabbed the Merrimack man arrested in New Hampshire the next morning after he tried to flee again, adding resisting arrest to his charges. The case, backed by multiple departments, remains under investigation—contact Trooper Kelsey Scott at 603-223-4381 with tips.

A similar chase in Merrimack on February 26, 2025, saw a Nashua man arrested after crashing, per patch.com, though no link ties it to Dearborn.
